Mist above Madikeri. Three days is enough for Coorg only if you start from Mysuru — from Bengaluru the same trip spends most of its first and last days on the road, which is the whole reason this circuit is written the way it is.

Why this circuit
This is the shortest circuit we offer and it exists for a specific reason: almost everything else in our catalogue needs four days or more, and a great many groups have three. Done from Mysuru, three days in Coorg is a genuine break rather than two days of driving with a night in the middle.
The distinction between starting points matters more here than anywhere else. From Mysuru the drive is three hours, so you arrive on day one with the afternoon free and leave on day three after a morning walk. From Bengaluru it is six hours each way, which eats most of both those days and turns the same three days into something rather less restful. We will quote either, and we will tell you which we think is the better trip.
Because the driving is short, this circuit is mostly about what you do at the property rather than what you drive to. Coorg's estates are the point — the walking, the coffee, the quiet — and the sightseeing is optional in a way it is not on our longer trips. Groups who want a full itinerary should look at the Western Ghats circuit instead.
Which Urbania
The 13 seater, for the reason that applies to all our Coorg trips: property approach lanes are narrow, steep and often unsurfaced, and a 17 seater that manages the highway easily can still be stopped by a gatepost.
Send us the property name when you book. We check the approach before you travel, and on a three-day trip there is even less room than usual to solve that problem on arrival.
Day by day
- Day 1 Mysore to Coorg 120 km
A short morning drive with Bylakuppe monastery on the way in. Into the plantations by lunch, with the afternoon genuinely free.
- Day 2 Coorg 120 km
Abbey Falls, Raja's Seat and Talakaveri, or Dubare and Nisargadhama if the group prefers water to viewpoints. The estates are the real reason to be here.
- Day 3 Coorg to Mysore or Bangalore 180 km
A last estate walk in the morning, then out. Ending at Mysuru is a comfortable half day; Bengaluru makes it a full one.

Weekends are the constraint, particularly between October and March when Bengaluru empties into Coorg. Friday evening and Sunday afternoon are the worst of it. A Thursday-to-Saturday or Sunday-to-Tuesday version of this circuit is the same trip with materially less traffic, and if your dates are flexible it is worth the shift.
The monsoon is beautiful here and hard on the plantation lanes — wet, slippery, and with leeches on the estate walks that groups find genuinely off-putting. We will not talk you out of it, but we will make sure you know before rather than after.
Three days does not stretch. Adding Nagarahole or Chikmagalur to this circuit turns it into five or six days and we would rather quote that honestly than squeeze a wildlife morning into the middle. If three days is genuinely your limit, Coorg alone is the right answer and doing it properly beats doing two things badly.

Questions about this circuit
Is three days really enough for Coorg?
From Mysuru, yes — three hours each way leaves you a free afternoon on day one, a full day on day two and a morning on day three. From Bengaluru it is six hours each way and the same three days become much less restful.
Should we start from Mysore or Bangalore?
Mysuru if you possibly can. It halves the driving and it is the difference between a break and a drive. We will quote from either, and we will say which we think is the better trip rather than the longer one.
Can a 17 seater reach our homestay?
It depends on the property, and on a three-day trip there is even less room to solve that on arrival. Coorg's approach lanes are narrow, steep and often unsurfaced. Send us the property name at booking and we will check before you travel.

October to March, and midweek if your dates allow. Bengaluru empties into Coorg at weekends in that window, and Friday evening and Sunday afternoon are the worst of it. A Thursday-to-Saturday version is materially quieter.

Do we need a permit?
No. The circuit stays within Karnataka, so no interstate permit applies. Tolls are minimal and charged at actuals against receipts.
Should we keep the vehicle at the property?
Yes. Coorg has no walkable centre and the attractions are spread widely with thin local transport. Releasing the vehicle leaves you at the homestay, however good the view is.
What is there to do on day two?
Abbey Falls, Raja's Seat and Talakaveri for viewpoints, or Dubare and Nisargadhama if your group prefers water. Honestly though, the estates are the reason to come — the sightseeing is optional here in a way it is not on our longer circuits.
Which seater should we take?
The 13 seater, on the property approaches rather than the road. For ten people with a weekend's luggage it is comfortable with a row folded.
Is this suitable for a corporate offsite?
It works well, with one caveat: the return on a Sunday evening shares the road with everyone else coming back. We plan the departure earlier than anyone wants and explain why, because a vehicle full of colleagues stationary on a ghat road after dark is what gets remembered.
