One-Way Urbania Drop from Mysore

The most common one-way drop from Mysuru is to Bengaluru airport, and it is worth treating as its own category rather than as an ordinary transfer. Mysuru has no commercial airport, so any flight means the run to Bengaluru — roughly 190 kilometres, of which the expressway portion is fast and predictable and the last thirty kilometres around the city are anything but. We plan on the pessimistic figure for that final stretch and would rather you spent the margin in the terminal.

For that particular run the arithmetic often favours the round trip rather than the drop, because the vehicle can complete both legs inside a working day. A group flying out in the morning and another arriving that evening can sometimes be covered by one vehicle and one daily minimum, which is cheaper than two independent drops. Tell us both movements when you enquire rather than booking them separately, and we will look for the overlap.

The other drops from Mysuru — Coorg, Ooty, Mangaluru, Kozhikode, Chennai — are conventional one-ways where the vehicle returns empty and the rate carries part of that return. The comparison worth making is against a round trip where the vehicle waits: a group staying three or four days is usually better served by two drops than by paying a daily minimum for a vehicle parked at a resort, and a group staying one night is usually not.

Two operational notes specific to this hub. Drops south through Bandipur towards Ooty or Wayanad are governed by the night traffic restriction, so a late-evening departure that would be fine elsewhere is simply not available on that road — the chauffeur would be stranded at the gate. And any drop into Kerala or Tamil Nadu carries an interstate permit, obtained before dispatch and billed at actuals with the receipt, which is a cost worth knowing about before comparing our number with a quote that has quietly omitted it.

It is also worth saying what a one-way drop is not. It is not a vehicle you can add passengers to on the return leg, because there is no return leg with anybody in it, and it is not half the price of a round trip. If there is a reasonable chance you will want the same vehicle again within a few days, mention it when you book — depending on the direction we can occasionally plan the return around another job and quote you better than two separate drops.
